Description
A single wall-mounted steel rail with cradles for a few cordless tools. This is the starting point rather than the full wall — the thing to fit above a bench when you own three drills, not twelve.
Short enough to land on one stud or two masonry fixings, which makes it the easiest of the tool racks to put up and the least fussy about where.

Guides that cover this
How to find a stud in a garage wall
Tap for the dull spot, look for screw dimples in raking light, sweep a magnet, or use a detector, then confirm with a pilot hole. Why detectors misread garages.
How to organise power tools in a garage
Each cordless tool by its handle on a steel rack into masonry, charger and batteries on a shelf beneath, socket in reach. Pegboard cannot hold a drill.
Pegboard or French cleat for a garage tool wall
Cleat wins on strength and cost if you have a saw, a Saturday and a sheet of ply. Pegboard wins if you want it up in an hour and rearranged in seconds.
