The bench
In a single-car garage the bench competes with the car, which is why folding brackets and a clamp-on vice beat a fixed bench for most people: the worktop is there when you need it and gone when you need the floor. Whatever the top, the rule is the same — everything that lives on the bench should have somewhere else to be.
